Everything we do must have the potential to add value to the business of sheep & beef farming

AgriNetworks was established in 2000 as a subsidiary of the Veterinary Enterprises Group and is based in Te Awamutu.

Chris Mulvaney and Don MacColl are veterinarians with a combined experience of over 40 years in with sheep and beef farmers throughout New Zealand. This experience includes many years in typical rural practice as well as business management, farm consultancy focused on animal production systems and research.

Fiona Owen is in charge of just about everything else that we do.

Our mission

Whatever we do must have potential to add value to sheep and beef farm businesses.

The principle is based on knowing that when farm animals are in good health and well fed, they will perform to a higher level.

Our business

If we want to improve we have to change. Often it's hard to change because we don't have the confidence. Generally we don't have the confidence because we don't really know what's going on in the business.

Our approach is to use practical information knowledge based systems to help create the confidence for positive change. We have three components to our business.

  1. StockCARE® is our new brand for what has been called Sheep for Profit®. It is a programme to help sheep and beef farmers really find out what is going on in their businesses. We have comprehensive systems to measure many of the important drivers of the business. We use this information to help identify factors that may be limiting performance. We can help you define and understand those factors with a view to identifying the most appropriate solutions.

StockCARE® has a particular focus on the animal production systems but we have financial and farm soil fertility analyses as well.

  1. Through On-Farm Research we offer a contract trial and research service to other agribusiness organisations.
  1. FarmBiz is a training and information resource programme for all the Veterinary Enterprises employees involved in the sheep and beef sector. Our role is to help everyone understand the big picture aspects of sheep and beef farm business as well as animal health and nutrition.

This site is still new, so please stay tuned as our resources grow!
