How does StockCARE® work?
First contact with your StockCARE® Veterinarian is an informal chat so to get a good understanding of your expectations and to make sure StockCARE® is the best option to meet your needs.
Then a farm visit is recommended to drill down into what you think are the issues on your farm and to further discuss the potential benefits from StockCARE®. This may mean the standard programme is refined to suit your individual situation.
An annual service agreement contract is signed.
Fees are based on:
- Annual subscription to the data-base. Invoiced by AgriNetworks - $1400 excl GST if you do your own data entry, or $1500 excl GST if we do your data entry.
- Fees for service which will be charged by your veterinarian. As an indication fees will be approximately $4000 in the first year and then adjusted according to your needs in the following years.
Your package includes unlimited telephone contact with your StockCARE® Veterinarian.
The programme starts off with a farm visit with two main objectives:
- Create a Farm Management Programme which will include a comprehensive preventive animal health plan as well as timing for the StockCARE® events during the year.
- Go through the StockCARE® folder which contains all the protocols and recording forms.
Your farm will be entered into the data base.
You can send in the completed record forms as hard copy and we will do the data entry or you can do it yourself in the web-based system.
There is a fortnightly reminder system linked to the Management Plan.
The data base provides an immediate undated report.
The first year usually involves 3-4 farm visits where you will learn to interpret and understand your own information and start thinking about effective action plans based on realistic and achievable targets.
Generally we expect the first 9-12 months to be more about collecting good information. There's little point in thinking about changes until we have something to work from. Once that initial "audit" has been done we start to focus on implementing changes for improvement and using the StockCARE® reports to review back and plan forward.

David Morrow / Tony Marett farm a 8500 stock unit Sheep & Beef property. StockCARE® has given us the ability to really understand our ewe flock and its capabilities. Being able to pinpoint strengths and weaknesses we can then fine tune and make changes where necessary. StockCARE® has large amounts of information from other farmers and professionals which can be tapped into to find solutions to problems that occur and can be shared with other members.
