No new posts EMPLOYMENT

Employment issues are becoming more important than ever for farm businesses.

It has been stated that "Baby Boomers" born 1945 to 1964 tend to see a career as central to their life - they live to work! They tend to work too hard, they seek recognition for what they do and regard changing employment frequently as something to be frowned upon.

The next generation ("Generation X") tend to have a different approach. They are less concerned with job security and the overpowering career. They are prepared to work hard but want to play hard too. Their expectations include quality time with their families. They work to live.

Providing suitable employment packages to retain the Generation X group is an on-going challenge for the Baby Boomer employers.
Who needs to change them or us?
